Geo. W. Neale's "Pewter 92," is the standard to which
other alloy manufacturers aspire.
Pewter
is an alloy consisting mainly of Tin, with additions of Copper &
Antimony, and is subject to the requirements of BSEN611-1:1995 &
British Standard 5140:1974. The quality of the alloying process
is not only governed by mixing the correct proportions of the constituent
metals, but is affected by other factors such as strict temperature
control, grain refining, & pouring techniques. Geo. W. Neale
Ltd. operate the most stringent quality controls during the production
process, and have an unparallelled wealth of experience in producing
the finest alloys.
"Pewter
92" has excellent flow properties, is suitable for highly detailed
castings, and gives a very shiny finish which can be polished if
required.
Being
Lead Free, "Pewter 92" is the perfect material for items
in contact with food or drink. It is also the metal of choice for
producers of fantasy figures and toy and game pieces.
As
"Pewter 92" is Nickel Free, it conforms to the
requirements of the EU Nickel Directive 94/27/EC, and is ideal for
all high class costume jewellery, especially pieces which remain
unplated, such as "Celtic" jewellery.
